Business card holder.

I made up some simple business cards today and needed a little something to display them in for an up and coming market that I am attending. This is what I came up with-






It is made from a small serving spoon. Hand stamped 'TILDYS'.

Here is a little recipe book holder I made from an old silver plated teaspoon. I made it for my Mother for her Birthday. Hand stamped "ADD A PINCH OF LOVE" and "GLORIA" on the handle.

I've been playing with spoons too -

I made this spoon cuff out of a long handled stainless steel teaspoon for my cousin Amy who is hoping to open her own business later in the year. I wanted to make her a little something to help motivate her. This is her favourite quote. Hand stamped "BUILD IT & THEY WILL COME"

Here is a cute little ring holder made from a stainless steel fork. Handstamped "LOVE" on the front and again on the handle.

Nannas got charm

Yesterday afternoon I felt like being creative, so I made this -



1.25 inch sterling silver textured disc. Handstamped 'Nanna'. Freshwater pearls and swarovski crystals. Strung on a sterling silver chain. $53 plus postage.

I've just received an email from Krista, asking if 'Tildys' can feature in Mays addition of Mylookbook.com.au online fashion magazine!

So excited and happy that a fashion magazine would want to do a feature on my humble jewellery designs.

Krista is the editor at mylookbook.com.au and fell in love with Peta's layered necklace, which she saw on Peta's blog.

I had a request for Gold. I am able to stamp on 'gold-filled' discs. What is gold filled?

Gold-filled also called rolled-gold. These jewellery findings are not actually filled with gold! They are made of a base metal (usually brass or copper) covered by sheets of gold in a mechanical bonding process. Effectively a thick coat of gold: the gold content is 5% or 1/20 of the total weight. Use gold-filled items for your top-of-the-line jewellery. Usually made with 14k gold, it is hard wearing. With reasonable care it will not peel or flake, and should last as long as solid 14k gold jewellery. It is safe for most people with sensitive skin.
